About Ali Salisbury, LMT

Ali Salisbury, LMT | TN License #10698

Hello, my name is Ali Salisbury. I bring over 17 years of experience as a Professional Massage Therapist and Bodywork Practitioner and have been a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) since 2006.

Originally from Detroit, MI, I’ve lived in South Carolina and Kentucky, but Tennessee has truly captured my heart since I moved here in 2013. I’ve raised two wonderful children, who are now adults, and I’m a proud grandmother to two amazing grandchildren. When I’m not working or studying, my Siberian Huskies, Sebastian and Bella, keep me active and enjoying the outdoors.

Philosophy

As a Licensed Massage Therapist and Bodywork Practitioner, I believe in providing a safe and restorative space for rest and healing. Through movement and pressure, skeletal muscle tissue warms, allowing fascia to release and transition from a solid to a gel-like state, known as “sol.” This process enhances muscle pliability, reduces tension, and improves circulation, delivering vital nutrients throughout the body and supporting systems like the lymphatic system.

Energy balance is also a key focus, as the body rests in a neutral position. Incorporating breathing exercises helps release muscle tension, supporting both physical and mental relaxation.

On Cupping

“You’ll feel skin lift from muscle, muscle lift from muscle, and even muscle lift from bone in certain areas. I favor silicone cups for their versatility, as they allow for both static placement and dynamic movement, reaching up to 3 inches deep into the body. This technique helps move interstitial fluids and relieves areas compressed or restricted by adhered tissues.”

Remember, therapy can be relaxing!
